4390 Listens to Everyone

4390 listens to everyone’ initiative kicks off – Training, apps and text messages to make the taxi experience easier for deaf customers.

From today, taxi travel will be easier and safer for deaf customers. The initiative ‘4390 Ascolta Tutti’ (4390 listens to everyone), born from the agreement between the taxi drivers’ cooperative 4390 Taxi Firenze and Ens Firenze, the national deaf organisation, has started. The aim is to train taxi drivers to know the simple but special needs of the deaf user, promote the dedicated app and alternative means to voice telephony to use the taxi service through a training video.

The 4390 taxi drivers took part in eight training days during which they were instructed by representatives of the Ens on the tricks necessary to make the taxi experience of the deaf user autonomous and smooth.

The agreement between 4390 and the Ens also foresees the diffusion of a subtitled training video in Lis in order to inform users about the tools available to call a taxi. Through 4390 Taxi Firenze there is also a sms service available for all users, through which it is possible to specify one’s condition in order to receive a service tailored to individual needs: just send a message to the number 333-8077555 and in a few minutes the taxi will arrive.
